2014 BAYOU VERMILION FESTIVAL The Festival will kick off at 10 a.m. with a viewing of antique putt-putt boats and engines from around the South. The day continues with a mis-à-jour of the upcoming film In the Mind of the Maker with producer Charles Richard as well as some of the film's subjects. There will also be film screenings, kids' crafts, demonstrations, guided tours of Bayou Vermilion District’s rain garden and native plants, canoeing, Bayou Vermilion boat tours, cooking demos and a performance by Soul Creole from 1 – 4 p.m. Admission to the Festival is $5 for adults. 2014 BAYOU VERMILION BOAT PARADE The Bayou Vermilion Boat Parade will kick off around 2 p.m. with a celebratory toast by this year’s Grand Marshall. The parade will depart from Vermilionville and end at the Camellia Bridge Launch with a celebration complete with live music by the as well as food and drinks. The public is invited to participate in the parade by clicking either the paddle or boat images below to register. You can register the day of the event at Vermilionville for paddlers and Beaver Park for boaters.
Residents and businesses that live along the parade route are encouraged to invite friends and family over to watch the parade from their back yard. Those that do not live along the parade route can watch the parade at Vermilionville, Beaver Park, Rotary Point or at Ruffino’s restaurant. See map of viewing locations below.
